Country: Brazil
Nestled in the picturesque region of South Minas Gerais, Fazenda Santa Izabel has long been celebrated for the exceptional quality of its coffee. Acquired by Nobletree Coffee Farms in 2013 from its former owner, Marco Suplicy, the farm underwent transformative changes, paving the way for a new era of excellence.
Santa Izabel Farm has earned global acclaim having received numerous prestigious awards. They came 1st place in the Brazil Specialty Coffee Association (BSCA) Aroma Competition in 2020, placed 17th for its Bourbon at the 2020 at the Cup of Excellence Award and achieved 1st place in the BSCA the Washed Category in 2016.
Currently the farm grows 40 different varieties, with the team dedicated to identifying the optimal varieties to be selected for forthcoming harvests.
Beyond its commitment to cultivating exceptional coffee, Fazenda Santa Izabel prioritises good socio-environmental practices. The farm extends its expertise to small producers in the region with the provision of courses and workshops. This not only fortifies ties within the community but also empowers local producers to connect with international buyers, ensuring a sustainable future for all involved.
In collaboration with two esteemed institutions in Brazil, SEBRAE and SENAR, Falcafe host field days and organise training sessions focused on the intricacies of specialty coffee. Their support extends beyond theoretical knowledge, encompassing post-harvest guidance, drying methods, cupping sessions, and assistance with coffee sales.
